A letter from a local

Rock Canyon is the town amenity.

Rock Canyon opens straight off the east bench — ten minutes from campus to quartzite sport routes and shady granite, with the Y Mountain trail switchbacking up next door for the sunset crowd. Timpanogos, the Wasatch's most dramatic hike, looms over everything like a poster.

Sundance's aspen-lined lifts hide thirty minutes up Provo Canyon, and the Provo River — a genuine blue-ribbon trout stream — runs the same canyon with a paved path alongside. Utah Lake takes the flat-water evenings.

It's young, cheap, safe, and buzzing with startup energy off the university. The mountains do not care that you have a 9am class. Go anyway.
