A letter from a local

Four hundred miles of trail from Main Street.

Park City's summer secret outweighs its winter fame: 400-plus miles of interconnected singletrack leave from town — Round Valley's rollers, Wasatch Crest's ridgeline, Mid Mountain's endless aspen traverse. It's the first IMBA gold-level ride center on earth and it rides like it.

Winter needs no introduction: two giant resorts eight minutes out, Deer Valley's groomers, and the Utah Olympic Park still launching aerialists. Thirty-five minutes over the pass gets you the Cottonwoods when the powder flag flies.

A silver-mining Main Street, Sundance every January, and Salt Lake's airport forty minutes down the canyon. Expensive, yes — but it's the most functional mountain town in the West.
