One canyon does all of it.
Logan Canyon starts at the east edge of town and just keeps giving: limestone sport climbing at China Wall and Fucoidal Quartzite fifteen minutes up, the Wind Caves hike ten, the Logan River's dry-fly water the whole way, and Beaver Mountain's family-run lifts thirty minutes to the top.
The Bonneville Shoreline trail contours the bench above the university for lunch runs, and Green Canyon and Providence Canyon fan out the mountain biking. Winter inversions push everyone up-canyon into the sun; it's a feature once you learn the trick.
College-town cheap, dairy-country friendly, and the Wellsvilles — the steepest range in the Rockies by some measures — filling the western window. Cache Valley keeps its secrets well.
